MARÍA ROSENFELDT IS A DESIGNER AND YOGA INSTRUCTOR. DAUGHTER OF THE RENOWNED PHOTOGRAPHER OUKA LEELE, SHE PRESERVES HER LEGACY WHILE SHARING HER VISION OF DESIGN, ART, AND WELL-BEING ON SOCIAL MEDIA, ESTABLISHING HERSELF AS AN INFLUENTIAL FIGURE IN CONTEMPORARY CULTURE.

Her lifestyle is based on naturalness, spirituality, and constant evolution. How do you incorporate these principles into creating and selecting furniture for your home?

Always! I love pieces I can connect with, that have a story behind them. I also love buying small items when I travel. And candles and incense can never be missing in my home!

Your home in the Salesas neighborhood in Madrid reflects a bohemian and artistic style. What elements of your current environment inspire you when redecorating your space?

I always look for natural elements and organic colors, things that aren’t cold. I prefer warm tones. I think, living in a city, I always look for references to nature, choosing materials like wood.

“This house is special to me because it was the first one my mother bought in the 70s and her photography studio, where she searched for a unique light.”

What piece of furniture represents your lifestyle the most? How does yoga influence the design of your home?

I would say it’s a silver teapot with minerals that belonged to my great-grandmother and was passed down to me from my grandmother. It’s something very special that’s always accompanied me in all my homes. Yoga influences the fact that I always need corners or free spaces to practice. I also like furniture that’s easy to move.

Do you prefer a minimalist or more eclectic style in your home?

I’m 100% eclectic, both in my style and my home, I love mixing design pieces with vintage ones. In my home, you’ll find everything from a Baby Yoda doll, a harp to candelabras full of wax.

What is your favorite space in your house or personal refuge, and why?

If the weather is good, I love being on the terrace, it’s a small oasis! I also really like the living room because of its high ceilings and large windows.

“The renovation, carried out by the Cizak Dalmas and Matteo Ferrari studio, resulted in a bright, soulful, and historic home.”

What advice would you give to create a home that reflects your personality?

Don’t follow trends, have furniture and objects you feel a special connection with. Don’t just decorate for decoration’s sake, live in the house bit by bit and see what objects and furniture you find over time.

Is there any furniture in your house with a special story or personal meaning to you?

There’s one very special piece of furniture that my grandfather, an architect, designed. It’s a wooden staircase that transforms into a chair.

What design trends inspire you currently and how do you apply them in your house?

I admit that I’m a bit of a Renaissance woman and don’t really keep up with trends! I really love getting inspiration from my travels. Traditional Balinese architecture fascinates me.

“This house has been my home since childhood and also as an adult. It surprises those who visit it, as it feels like an oasis in the center of Madrid. I love it.”

Why choose The Masie?

I like it because there are timeless pieces, those that you feel will stay with you for a lifetime, pieces with soul!

What do our furniture inspire in you?

To me, they transmit a feeling of home, they’re warm, and the color level seems amazing. There are bold mixes in design and colors, but they have an incredible coherence between them.
